Raymond Newton Kile , age 70, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019, in Rig, WV. He was born on June 24, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, the son of the late Raymond Burley and Mary Matilda (Lahman) Kile. On June 23, 1973, Raymond married Nancy (Kisamore) Kile, who survives in Petersburg.

Mr. Kile was a 1966 graduate of Petersburg High School and was a Methodist by Faith. He was a former Engineering Assistant at The USDA Soil Conservation and had also worked at Pilgrims Pride. Raymond was a Veteran of the US Navy, where he had served for 21 years and completed three tours in Vietnam on aircraft carriers. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #6454. Raymond was so proud of his sons and the men they had become. He loved his family and spending time spoiling his grandchildren. He had a passion for talking and never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with all of his Facebook friends.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kile is survived by: 2 sons, Matt B. Kile of Charleston, WV, Eric Kile (Amber) of Pikeville, KY; 5 grandchildren, Kaleb, Samuel, Parker, and Cash Kile, and Logan Cole; a brother, Andrew L. Kile (Brenda) of Cabins, WV; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Mr. Kile's family will receive friends on Monday, February 11, 2019, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Carig Howard officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, with Military Honors conducted by the VFW Honor Guard Post #6454 and the US Navy.
