Obituary

 Richard Francis Curran  , age 89, of Maysville, WV, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, April 03, 2026. He was born on March 9, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Robert and Mae (Welsh) Curran. Richard married the love of his life, Edna Joan Curran who preceded him in death on July 22, 2023.

Mr. Curran graduated from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia and joined the United States Air Force where he was stationed at McGuire Air Force Base. Richard served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Desert Storm working as an aircraft mechanic. After many years of service to our country, he began another career in management at the Acme Supermarket and later working at Shop-N-Save in Petersburg. Richard loved spending time at home with his family and working on his suntan during the hot summer. He also made sure to share his Roman Catholic faith with them and leave them with a legacy of service to God, family, and country.

Richard is survived by: 3 sons, Steven Curran (Janel) of Levittown, PA; Matthew Curran (Patty) of Levittown, PA; Philip Curran (Vanessa) of Maysville, WV; 14 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Ricky" Curran; a brother, Robert Curran; and 2 sisters, Joan DiDonita; and Mary Cashman.

In honoring Richard’s wishes his body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on May 22, 2026 at the Resurrection Cemetery (5201 Hulmeville Rd. Bensalem, PA 19020).  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
