Richard Delano
Ryan
November 6, 1967 – July 24, 2019
Richard Delano Ryan, 51
Every silver lining has its touch of grey. After being blessed with his presence for over a half century, Richard D. Ryan left this earth to go home on July 24, 2019.
Richard was born, on November 6, 1967, in Fairfax, VA, to Jane Ruddle of Circleville, WV and the late Thomas Ryan. In addition to his Mother, he is survived by: Step Father, Mike Giles; Step Mother, Yoka Ryan; and 8 siblings. Kristy Miller, Katie McHenry, Paul Searle, Jenna Hendricks, David "Cameron" Searle, Thomas Ryan, Tanya Tinsley, and Adriana Snively. He also leaves behind his Son Greg Ryan; daughter-in-law, Evania Ryan; granddaughter, Olivia Ryan, along with several other nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Beginning from an early age he had a sense of humor that could put a smile on anyone's face that he carried throughout his adult life. Whether it was a random joke or interacting with his nieces and nephews, brothers, sisters, or cousins, Richard always made it a point to leave a smile on the faces he came in contact with throughout the years. Beneath all his jokes and humor, Richard had a kind heart, loved all his family and friends. Richard's playful spirit will continue to stay with us all through the stories we tell about the precious memories we have of him.
Richard had many skills including masonry, landscaping, electrical, leather and bead work, and culinary. He worked at Exide, Stokes Electic, Design Electric, EMC Electric, along with multiple other places. Richard was an avid fisherman, who loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed going to the lake, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Richard grew up listening and following the Grateful Dead on foot, all around the country. He traveled many states and found peace in listening to music, making jewelry or finding different places to work while he found his passion. Richard will greatly be missed by his friends and family.
Richard's family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2019, 12:30-2 PM at the Snowy Mountain United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the church, with Elder Brian Hendricks officiating. Interment will be in the Ruddle Cemetery in Circleville, WV. Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Basagic Funeral Home, POB 215, Franklin, WV 26807. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
