Robert Leroy Cook , age 52, of Upper Tract, WV, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA. He was born on June 25, 1972, in Petersburg, WV, the son of Karen (Cook) Pennington of Upper Tract, WV and the late Russell Pennington. On January 23, 1996, Robert married Tara Ann (Barkley) Cook, who survives in Upper Tract.

Robert attended Upper Tract Schools and had worked for Walmart and most currently employed by Fisher Mountain Golf Course in Maintenance. He was a former member of the Upper Tract Volunteer Fire Department. Robert had a passion for the great outdoors and he enjoyed fishing and turkey and deer hunting. His love for his family was immeasurable.

In addition to his wife, Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory: a daughter, Kelsey Cook of Upper Tract, WV; a son, Dakota Cook of Upper Tract, WV; a sister, Rachel Pennington; 2 brothers, Rusty Pennington (Christina Arbaugh) of Circleville, WV, Rodney Pennington of Maysville, WV; mother-in-law, Joyce Helman (Larry); father-in-law, Kenneth Barkley (Bonnie) a sister-in-law, Elisha Shreve; a brother-in-law, Jesse Shreve; 2 nieces, Sierra Nicole Adamson, Hanna Pennington; a nephew, Colton Pennington; special aunts and uncles, including, Doris Jean, Larry, Donna, June, and Carol Cook; his furry friend/companion, "Rosie"; and numerous cousins.

Robert's family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Sam Harper officiating. Interment will in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract, WV.
