Robert Edward "Bob" Williams , age 88, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA. He was born on March 2, 1931, in Washington, DC, the son of the late William and Vera (Nally) Williams. Bob married Donna (DeHate) Williams, who preceded him in death on May 17, 1999. On July 1, 2000, he married Opal (Alexander) Kee Williams, who survives in Franklin.

Mr. Williams was a graduate of Bladensburg High School and Washington Bible College. He was a member of the Christ Central Church, American Legion, and Sugar Grove VFW #9666. Bob retired as a Safety Inspector in 1985, from the US Navy, and he was instrumental in the construction of the Sugar Grove Naval Base and had worked there from 67-68. Bob had also worked for People's Life Insurance Company. Mr. Williams was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a daughter, Pamela A. Jackson (Willard) of Franklin, WV; 4 sons, Gary Steyer of Youngstown, OH, Dale Williams of Laurel, MD, Robert "Bobby" Williams (Linda) of Greencastle, PA, Daniel Williams (Jeanette) of Eldersburg, MD; a daughter in law, Joann Williams of Ellicott City, MD; 2 step daughters, Frances Kee of Franklin, WV, Donna Sponaugle (Dwight) of Franklin, WV; 2 step sons, Harry Kee and Michael Kee, both of Franklin, WV; 8 grandchildren, Amber, Doug, Lisa, Matthew, Christa, Curtis, Cody, Destiny; 3 great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Jacob, Sky; 4 step grandchildren, Ashley Canterbury (Gary), Natasha Bergdoll (Jason), Harry Kee III, Garrett Sponaugle; and 4 step great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Briar, Addison, and Ben. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by: a son, Curtis Williams; and 2 step grandchildren, Celia and Opal Lynn.

Mr. Williams' family will receive family on Saturday, July 20, 2019, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Sam Harper officiating. Interment will be in Kline Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV, with Military Honors conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Navy.
