Robert E. Mullins , age 82, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at his home. He was born on April 21, 1939, in Dunham, KY, the son of the late Rufus and Edna (Hollyfield) Mullins. Robert was previously married to Caroline Susan Ellifritz, who preceded him in death on August 10, 2021.

Mr. Mullins attended Swindle Creek School in Pond, VA. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator and a farmer. Robert retired as a Painter from Fairfax County Board of Education. He was fond of horses and country music.

Mr. Mullins is survived by: a daughter, Cindy Mullins of Fairfax, VA; 3 sons, Eric Mullins (JoAnn) of New Creek, WV, Tim Mullins (Trina) of Chantilly, VA, Robert Mullins, Jr. (Linda) of Leesburg, VA; 2 sisters, Betty Hellowitz of AZ, Marlene Leheny of Wise, VA; 2 brothers, Warren Mullins (Elaine) of Warrenton, VA, James Mullins (Jeanie) Front Royal, VA; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his faithful dog "Rascal". In addition his parents and mother of his children, he was preceded in death by: 4 brother; and 4 sisters.

Mr. Mullins' family will receive friends on Tuesday, November, 9, 2021, 10-11 AM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Little officiating. Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.
