Robert Roy Stump, age 78, of Harman, WV, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital.  He was born on March 12, 1945 in Moorefield, WV, the son of the late Robert Brooks and Hazel Brison (Southerly) Stump.

Mr. Stump attended Moorfield High School, later receiving his GED in the military, and was a Christian by faith.  Robert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam.  He began working as a machinist and later in labor for American Woodmark in Moorefield.  He was a Freemason at the Masonic Lodge #86 Romney, WV and member of the VFW Post #9606 Moorefield, WV.  Robert was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Robert is survived by: a son, Todd Stump of Romney, WV; 3 sisters, Shelva Piraino of Moorefield, WV; Betty Troy of Moorfield, WV; Nancy Troy of Moorefield, WV; 3 brothers, Ronald Stump (Julie) of Moorefield, WV, Carl Stump (Shelby) of Moorefield, WV, Wendell Stump (Shirley) of Petersburg, WV; a family friend and caretaker, Joshua Casto of Harman, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 4 sisters, Helen Mullins; Mildred Brookins; Dorothy Wilson; and Susan Stump.
