Ruth S. Edison , age 83, of OH, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Manor Care of Barberton, in OH. She was born on Entry Mountain in Franklin, WV, on January 23, 1936, the daughter of the late Armeda (Willis) Fisher and the late Sniveley Wright. Ruth married Theodore Edison, Jr, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Edison was a past member of the AME Church in Franklin, WV, and later became associated with Jehovah's Witnesses until the end of her earthly life. She graduated from Bluefield State College with a Teaching Degree. Ruth worked as an Educator for 30 years at Franklin Elementary, East Liverpool Public Schools, and Cleveland Public Schools. Ruth was part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority. Ruth like to read her bible praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, alway s thinking of others first. To know her was to love and admire her.

Mrs. Edison is survived by: 3 sons, Brian, Blaine, and Brent Edison; a daughter, Alicia Edision Moats; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews; a niece; and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Rosetta Anderson; and 4 brothers, Kenny Wright, Charles Arthur Wright, William Fisher, and Roger Wright.

Mrs. Edison's family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14, 2019, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rob Cochran officiating.
