Obituary

Sandra Clair Washburn, age 70, of Franklin, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on July 20, 1956, in Canton, OH, the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Margaret J. (Newcomb) Washburn.

Sandra will be remembered as a loving and caring woman with a big heart. Those who knew her experienced the kindness and warmth she carried throughout her life. Her faith was central to who she was, and having Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior all of her life was among the accomplishments she held most dear.

A 1977 graduate of Franklin High School, Sandra took pride in her education and in the milestones that shaped her life. Graduating from high school was one of the achievements she treasured, reflecting both perseverance and personal pride. Sandra was a member of Living Faith Church in Franklin and a resident of the Pendleton Manor for several years.

Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory: her sister, Mary M. Warner and her husband, Charles, of Harrisonburg, VA; her niece, Vicki Warner of Charlottesville, VA; and many cousins and friends that she dearly loved.

Sandra's family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2026, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Stephen Teter officiating. Interment will be in Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass, VA.
