Scottie Lee Wimer, age 70, of Mt. Olive, WV, formerly of Cherry Grove, WV, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at CAMC Hospital in Charleston, WV. He was born on May 26, 1954 on Smith Creek, WV, the son of the late Walter Adam "Addie" and Sallie (Vandevander) Wimer.

Scottie attended Circleville High School and had worked as a farmer and had also worked at various sawmills. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo. Scottie also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Scottie leaves behind to cherish his memory: a son, Scottie Ray Wimer of Dunmore, WV; 3 sisters, Lulabelle Turner of Circleville, WV, Betty Lou Mick (Will) of Circleville, WV, Linda Jean Wimer of Seneca Rocks,WV; 2 grandchildren, Jordan and Aiden Wimer; 1 great-granddaughter, Aurora Nicole Wimer; and several nieces and nephews, including Brittany Nicole Wimer and Mark Adam Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:a step-daughter, Martha Marie "Kitten" Turner; 4 brothers, Raymond Wimer, Richard Dale Wimer, Martin Junior Wimer, Danny Lee Wimer Arbogast; and 2 sisters, Lorraine Painter and Rebecca Moses.

Scottie's family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Wimer Family Cemetery, Circleville, WV.
