Shirley Marie Sites, age 84, of Seneca Rocks, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born on March 12, 1940, in Riverton, WV, the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Rebecca (Mallow) Dice. Shirley was twice married. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Odith Vandevander on January 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her second husband, William Rex Sites in 1990.

Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Circleville High School and attended North Fork Church of the Brethren. She was a lifelong farmer and homemaker that took pride in her family. Shirley was a dedicated mother, wife and grandmother that had a passion for caring for the animals on the farm, especially the sheep and cattle.

Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Donna Bennett of Seneca Rocks, WV, Bonnie Vandevander (Galen Arbaugh) of Circleville, WV; 2 sisters, Reva Arbaugh (Richard) of Circleville, WV, Loretha Vandevander (Delbert) of Whitmer, WV; 3 grandchildren, April Vandevander (Gary Jack), Derek Arbaugh (Roxanne), and Shawn Arbaugh; and 6 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Grant, Madison, Brandon, Bailey, and Briana. In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Shirley's family will receive friends on Saturday, March 30, 2024, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Dan Arbogast officiating. Interment will be in the Dice Family Cemetery.
