Charles Steve Hevener , age 70 of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin. He was born on March 7, 1948, in Kline, WV, the son of Violet K. (Armentrout) Hevener of Pendleton Manor in Franklin and the late Jesse James Hevener. On June 28, 1975, Steve married Rita Faye Moyers Hevener, who survives in Franklin.

Mr. Hevener was a 1966 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Potomac State College for 2 years. He was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and he attended The Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints in Franklin. Steve retired after 25 years as a Sheet Metal Operator from Dunham-Bush and was a member of the Sheet Metal Worker's Union. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, where he served as SGT and was awarded Airman of the Quarter.

In addition to his wife and mother Mr. Hevener is survived by: 2 brothers, Leon Hevener and wife Geraldine of Upper Tract, WV, and Hal Hevener and wife Tina of Brandywine, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Nicole Hevener; a brother, James Dwight Hevener; and 2 sisters, Sherry Kile and Alma Wagoner.

Mr. Hevener's family will receive friends on Friday, June 29, 2018, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin and on Saturday, June 30, 2018, 9-11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day of Saints in Franklin. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in Kline Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV, with Military Honors provided by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
