Obituary

Steven Lincoln Rodgers, age 21 of Grafton, WV and formerly of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 in Morgantown, WV as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on December 2, 1998 in Fairmont, WV the son of Clayton Dale Rodgers, Jr. and Cinda Lou (Chapman) Rodgers of Petersburg, WV.

Mr. Rodgers was a 2017 graduate of Petersburg High School and was a Christian by faith. He was currently doing carpentry work in the Morgantown area. Steven was a member of the Mountain Top Hunting Club and Laborers Union. He loved fishing, hunting, square body Chevy's, hanging out on the front porch and, most of all, spending time with his little sister.

Mr. Rodgers is additionally survived by: 1 sister, Latasha Gayle Rodgers of Petersburg, 1 brother, Brandon L. Rodgers of Petersburg; maternal grandparents, Paula Watkins (Donald) of Grafton, WV; paternal grandfather, Clayton D. Rodgers, Sr. of Arthur, WV and his girlfriend, Chelsea Moore of Philippi, WV.

Mr. Rodgers is preceded in death by grandparents, Hazel E. Nelson, Eva Mae Roberts, Gary L. Chapman and Agnes Chapman.

Due to the pandemic, we are taking government recommendations into consideration and we encourage online expressions of sympathy to the family. On Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 1 PM, Pastor Ted Anderson will conduct a private graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, WV. Steven's wish was to set up a trust fund for his sister's future needs.
