Thelma Guyer (Anderson) Cooper , age 96, of Franklin, WV, formerly of Harrisonburg, VA, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on February 25, 1926, at Ft. Seybert, WV, the daughter of the late Dewey Samuel and Lola Belle (Guyer) Anderson. Thelma married Morris James Cooper, who preceded her in death in 1975.

Mrs. Cooper was a graduate of Franklin High School and she attended James Madison University. She was a member of the Brandywine Christian Church and she retired from Rockingham County Department of Welfare.

Mrs. Cooper leaves behind to cherish her memories: 2 nephews, Marshall Harper (Donna) of Brandywine, WV, Jeffrey Harper (Ronda) of Vienna, WV; a great-nephew, Garrett; 2 great- nieces, Megan and Carrie; a great-great-nephew, Andrew; and 4 great-great-nieces, Elizabeth, Leah, Sarah, and Emryn. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister on May 11, 2022, Alma Jean Harper.

Mrs. Cooper's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, 10-11 AM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Preacher Larry Danner officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Brandywine, WV.
