Treva Mae Simmons , age 88, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. She was born on February 24, 1935, in Mozer, WV, the daughter of the late Gussa and Bertha (Hartman) Alexander. On March 12, 1967, Treva married Reford Gale Simmons, who preceded her in death on August 13, 2012.

Treva attended Borror School and was a member of South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren. She had worked at New Frontier Restaurant and Franklin Garment Company. She was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.

Allen (Barb) Sisson of Petersburg, WV, William Henry "Bill" (Lisa) Sisson of Proctor, WV, Russell David "Dave" Sisson of Mathias, WV; 1 daughter-in-law, Ioleta Sisson of Stanley, VA; 5 sisters, Bonnie Simmons of Franklin, WV, Opal Williams of Franklin, WV, Lula (Buck) Simmons of Franklin, WV, Twila Walker of Franklin, WV, Linda (Nathan) Beachler of Sugar Grove, WV; 2 brothers, Walter (Armida) Alexander of Upper Tract, WV, Ralph Alexander of Moorefield, WV; 24 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren, with 3 on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: 1 son, Norman Sisson; 2 grandsons, Adrian Simmons and Wesley Teter; 1 granddaughter, Alisha VanMeter; and 1 brother, Donald Ray Alexander.

Treva's family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2, 2023, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be Monday, April 3, 2023 at the South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren at 11:00 AM, with Pastors Allen and Barb Sisson officiating. Interment will be in the Alexander Family Cemetery, Upper Tract, WV.
