Vera Madera Warner , age 94, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at her home. She was born on October 23, 1924, in Job, WV, the daughter of the late Omar and Ethel (Day) White. Vera married Arlie Warner, who preceded her in death in 2002.
Ms. Warner attended school in Job and Harman, and she was a Methodist by Faith. She was a hardworker and retired from General Motors in Cleveland, OH. She also helped operate the family farm and had worked as a welder in the Shipyard in Baltimore, MD during World War II.
Ms. Warner is surived by: a daughter, Sandra Jo Cooper (Wilmoth) of Harman, WV; a son, Roland L. Warner (Diana) of Petersburg; 4 grandchildren, Kevin, Rex, and Trenton Warner, and Harrison Cooper; and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Ed White; and 4 sisters, Haley Toss, Dessie Fox, Naomi Carr, and Jo Koshock.
Ms. Warner's body has been cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date, with burial of cremains in the White Family Cemetery in Job. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
