Vernon Elwood Lambert , age 81, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 20, 1939, in Zigler (Smith Creek), WV, the son of the late Vernon and Beulah (Lambert) Propst and (the parents that raised him) the late Denver and Clare Pennington. Vernon was married to Betty Marsh of Dover, DE.
Mr. Lambert was a graduate of Dover High School and was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army. He retired from Adel Construction in Wilmington, DE, where he worked as a Foreman on bridges and highways.
Mr. Lambert is survived by: 2 sons, Vernon Lance Lambert (Nancy J. Rains), and Sheldon Lee Lambert, all of Franklin, WV; 4 sisters, Barbara Cool, Karen Whitaker (Bill), Pat Tienman, Ruth Simmers; 2 brothers, Sheldon Gorman and Billy Gorman (Frances); and 6 grandchildren, Jessicca Hurd, Amanda Lambert, Cody Lambert, Danielle Lambert, Duke Lambert, and Kaylee Lambert; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Gorman.
