Vickie Lynn Rummel , age 66, of Franklin, WV, went to be with the Lord our God on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Sentara RMH. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose charismatic personality and compassionate heart will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.
Vickie enjoyed life on earth to the fullest. She loved traveling the world, seeing new places, meeting new people, and soaking up all of life's possibilities. She translated her love for these things through her passion for art and her kindness and caring for others. Vickie attended Franklin High School and had worked at Pendleton Manor, Thompson's Restaurant, and Ethan Allen.
Vickie was born on December 17, 1951, in Harrisonburg, VA. She was married to Rodney Ray Rummel on June 13, 1992, who passed away on November 6, 2011. She is survived by: a daughter, Sharon Jamison and husband Dennis of Franklin; a son, Raymond Houck and wife Pamela of Bridgewater, VA; 3 grandchildren, Savannah Flanigan and husband Shawn, Travis Jamison, and Lindsey Houck; 2 step- grandchildren, Alex Wilfong and Shayna Simmons; 2 great-grandchildren, Sicily and Silas Flanigan; 4 sisters, Pollyanna Johnson of Franklin, Cleanna "Kay" Alt of Franklin, Inga Kile and husband Reginald of Franklin, Mary Grace Vandevander of Kline, WV; and a special care giver, Rose Brackman.
She was greeted in Heaven by: her father, Curtis Dahmer; Mother, Vanila Cook Dahmer; brother, Conroy Dahmer; and 2 granddaughters, Leann and Shelly Jamison.
Vickie's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Martin officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin. Memorials may be made to: Pendleton Manor, Franklin CAN, Smith Creek Church of the Brethren, or Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene.
