Violet Barbara Kimble , age 93, of Upper Tract, WV, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. She was born on June 9, 1928, in Onego, WV, the daughter of the late John Alonzo and Elsie (Mallow) Vance. Violet married Norman "Tick" Kimble, who preceded her in death in August 4, 1988.

Mrs. Kimble was a graduate of Circleville High School and a member of the Upper Tract United Methodist Church. She retired as a Supervisor in the fitting department from Hanover Shoe Company where she had worked for 32 years. She had also worked for Potomac Valley Transit Authority, Franklin Garment Company, The Korner Shop, and Dahmer's Restaurant. Violet was a former member of Upper Tract Rescue Squad and had served as a past Pendleton County Justice of the Peace.

Violet is survived by: 3 daughters, Jackie Vance (Bob) of Upper Tract, WV, Sharon Simmons (Jack) of Franklin, WV, Vickie Mauzy (Mike) of Hightown, VA;; a brother, Kenneth Vance (Bernice) of Baltimore, MD; 4, grandchildren, Mike Simmons, Manda Teter, Aaron Thaler, Ryan Mowery; and 4 great-grandchildren, Evan, Kaylie and Karissa Teter, and Caylie Simmons. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a great-grandson, Corey Simmons; 3 sisters, Opal Berg, Arvella Turner, and Faye Chewning; and 4 brothers, Guy, Eldon, Glenn and Don Vance.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV, with Pastor Allen Sisson officiating.
