Violet Lucille Thompson , age 65, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Stonerise Nursing Home in Keyser, WV. She was born on September 4, 1956, in Ruddle, WV, the daughter of the late Alvin Moore and Ethel Marie (Hartman) Ruddle. Violet married Ralph J. Thompson, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2013.

Mrs. Thompson was a 1976 graduate of Franklin High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brandywine. She had worked as a homemaker for Pendleton Senior and Family Services.

Violet leaves behind to cherish her memory: a son, Tex J. Thompson (Carol A.) of Brandywine, WV; a sister, Josephine Hedrick (Dorman) of Petersburg, WV; 2 brothers, James Ruddle (Sue) and Sheldon Ruddle (Ann), both of Franklin, WV; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Shiplett, Terry Schell (Sherry), Walter L. Shiplett, Jr.; and 9 great-grandchildren, Trevor J. Shiplett, Marley Ann Shiplett, Bentley Ray Schell, Raylee Lynn Schell, Blaze Remmy Cole, Lakelynn Schell, Deacon Shiplett, Ava Shiplett, Kendall Shiplett. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: 2 infant daughters; and a brother, Gerald.

Mrs. Thompson's family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Brandywine, with Pastor Tim Weaver officiating.
