Wanda Lee VanMeter, age 81, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born on November 30, 1939 in Dorcas, WV the daughter of the late, Fred Vance and Viola (Crites) Vance.

Ms. VanMeter attended school in Lahmansville, WV and was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church in Maysville and the Women's Circle. She was a housekeeper at the Polish Pines Motel in Keyser for 17 years before retiring from the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. Wanda was a Godly woman who loved her family.

Ms. VanMeter is survived by: 1 daughter, Patricia Burns of Seneca Rocks, WV; 2 sons, Lee Allen VanMeter of Romney, WV and Edward VanMeter (Loretha) of Fisher, WV; 2 sisters, Lucy Rotruck (Richard) of Keyser, WV and Martha Hinkle of Scherr, WV; 1 sister-in-law, Lulubelle Vance of Berryville, VA and 1 brother, Dorse Vance (Linda) of Fredricksburg, VA; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. VanMeter is preceded in death by: 1 son, Donald VanMeter; 2 brothers, Junior Vance and Woodrow Vance and a grandson, Edwin Hall.

Ms. VanMeter's family will have a graveside service on Monday January 11, 2021 with Rev. Joseph Gerstell officiating in the Lahmansville Cemetery in Lahmansville, WV.  Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, wearing of masks and social distancing will be required at the graveside service at all times.
