Wayne Albert Huffman , age 83, of Ft. Seybert, WV, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 13, 1937, the son of the late Rollie and Nora Elizabeth Nelson Bland Huffman. On April 1, 1961, Wayne married Lois Carol (Murphy) Huffman, who survives at Ft. Seybert, WV.
Wayne was a 1956 graduate of Circleville High School and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a member of the South Fork Fire Department, Franklin Rescue Squad, South Fork Ruritan Club, and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Wayne retired in 1982 as a Firefighter from the Washington DC Fire Department. He was a US Army Veteran.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by: a daughter, Jennifer Dudley (Garrett) of Gordonsville, VA; a son, Barry Huffman (Sheila) of Ft. Seybert, WV; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Huffman of Harrisonburg, VA, Samantha Huffman and Josh Lewis of Appomattox, VA, Christopher Huffman (Hannah) of Franklin, WV, Sidney Gillis (David) of Flagstaff, AZ, Thomas Carr (Beck) of Richmond, Va; and 2 great-grandchildren, Myles Huffman and June Gillis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Verde Austin Hinkle, Lela Marie Huffman, Icie Mae Huffman, Ruby Pearl Huffman, Violet Marada Huffman, Irad Woodrow Huffman, Clara Susan Huffman, Marvin Theodore Huffman, Richard Henry Bland, Ruby Mae Bland, and Charles Coy Bland.
Wayne's family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. A graveside service will be on Thursday, July 30, 2020, 10:00 AM at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV, with Bishop Kyle Apple and Elder David Hartman officiating, and with Military Honors conducted by Camp Dawson representatives.
