William James “Jimmy” Haddaway, age 71, of Franklin, WV, formerly of Tilghman Island, MD, passed away on September 26, 2026. Born on July 27, 1955, in Easton, MD, the son of the late Shirley Cecilia (Haddaway) Weber and the late Reginald Leroy “Scud” Haddaway.

A fourth-generation commercial waterman, when he was not working on the water he could be found wandering the marshes and the mudflats at lowtide looking for arrowheads. His collection numbered in the thousands with the Clovis Point found near Tilghman the crown jewel. In his younger years, he trapped muskrat and hunted. He was shy and kind to everyone who knew him. He was a southpaw pitcher known for his fastball. Like most watermen, Jimmy was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and was a hard worker. He attended St. Michaels High School and later obtained his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License. He completed two skilled trades programs at Chesapeake College – Welding Fabrication and CDL certification.

When his mother passed away, Jimmy moved to beautiful Franklin WV. There he worked with the West Virginia Department of Highways and continued hunting arrowheads . Jimmy became a born-again believer in his later years. He was baptized in the river and used Facebook to share a positive message to his friends daily.

Jimmy is survived by his two sisters, Lisa Rodgers (Fred), of Franklin, WV, and Linda Haddaway King (Rob), of Tilghman Island, MD; and nieces and nephews, Joselyn King Ward (Bowden), Amanda King, Sara King, Samuel Rodgers and Amber Rodgers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. John's Chapel, 5160 Black Walnut Point Road, Tilghman, MD 21671, on , Friday, October 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
